Dean may have been hurt, but the creature had missed Jenny's leg, making a messy job and only managing to scratch a little. She slowly got up, swaying slightly on her feet but quickly got over the dizziness.

"Dean?" she called out, looking around. Then she saw him on the ground bleeding... badly.

"Oh crap." she said, running over to him, almost falling over, but able to stop herself. "Dean, just hold on okay? I think it's gone." Jenny found her bag next to the Impala and reached for it, quickly searching through for a bandage or something. She found a bandage and wrapped it around Dean's leg tightly. She knew they would need to get to a hospital or something but with this it would just be awkward questions. Well, hell, screw awkward questions.

She stood up again and a fresh wave of dizziness broke out again. Breathing heavily she looked down at her own leg and saw that it was worse than she had first thought. Perfect. She fell to the ground, unable to stand up on her feet anymore. No, no, no... she couldn't be passing out now... Jenny didn't do that. She couldn't fail at hunting... Her vision blurred and she kept blinking, trying to stay concious. She needed to take Dean to the hospital. Reaching for her bag she tried to get her phone... Sam. Would Sam be able to help? What if she was going to put him in danger. He needed to know about this thing, either way, before it got to him.

She found the number and tried to press call as fast as she could, but her finger slipped and her hand just fell onto the cold ground. Damn it.

Crepsley was walking through the woods, he had heard the screaming and the smell of the Vampanese was undeniable. He was walking briskly but not flitting as if it had retreated (as he assumed it would for if either attacked the other a war would start between the Vampires and the Vampanese) then his flitting would be wasted energy.

As he was walking he saw complete bloody mess. The stench of blood was nearly overwhelming and the sight made his skin tingle. As he was approaching he noticed the couple who had met him backstage, he decided to go for the male first.
He cupped a hand around his mouth and breathed into it, before clamping it round the male's mouth and nose. The gas Vampires breathed out was enough to render someone unconscious in a few seconds, when it was done he did the same to the female.
He instantly set about healing the wounds; he spat onto his hand and rubbed it into the back of the female’s leg. He repeated the act to the rest of her injuries, then the male’s. Thin scars appeared all over their bodies.

He picked up the unconcious bodies and had one over each shoulder, Mr Tall was going to be furious but Larten knew if he didn't sort this out then there would be nothing but questions. He put the unconcious bodies in the car and picked up the phone from the ground.
*beep* -9- *beep* -1- *beep* -1-
"Hello, Emergancy Services?" The overly nasal voice of the woman down the line was almost painful to Crepsley's ears.
He tried his best to sound afraid while faking an american accent, "H-hello? T-t-there's been an at-attack! Some k-kind of a-animal! Oh God theres lots of blood!" He gave the approximate location of the couple then turned around and headed back to the Cirque.

Voices, much to loud, yet sounding far away. Dean breathed in a shuddering breath, and waited for his hearing to adjust to the noise. Gradually he opened his eyes, which were blurry at first, but as his vision cleared he noticed the various emergency services, ambulances, the police. He looked down, and noticed that his chest had been bandaged, with dried blood clinging to his shirt.

He tried to remember what happened earlier, his mind blank from shock. Slowly it started to come back to him. The blood, the talons for nails. Was that thing still out there?

Dean tried to sit up, though it made his head throb, and he noticed a blonde - Jenny - next to him. Jenny! Was she all right. He coughed, noticing the slightly metallic taste of blood lingering in his mouth. He frowned, and then looked down at his leg. There was nothing there, saved for his ripped jeans and a faint scar. How the hell was he still alive?

"Jenny?" he half choked out, reaching out a hand to touch her arm. Please say she was alive.

"Sam!" Jenny cried, snapping her eyes open. She looked around frantically, trying to figure out how she had suddenly got into the Impala. She was calling Sam... She was calling Sam and blacking out and then.. there.

She looked down, breathing heavily. Her arms were covered in blood but the cuts seemed to be healed. What the hell?

"Jenny," Dean exhaled, looking relieved that she was awake and alive. Blood covered her arm, but he could see no wound, the same as with him. This was strange. Why had it left them? Why weren't they dead? Dean was sure that he was dead for good. He then noticed who's name she had cried out. It was Sam's. He had not expected that, seeing as they both knew that Sam was safely at the motel.

Dean tried to push himself up again as the throbbing from having just awoken from unconsciousness faded to a dull ache. He leaned forward onto the steering wheel, letting himself lie against it for a second before sitting back properly, swinging his legs onto the floor, back resting against the seat of the Impala. He could feel the stiff fabric rubbing against his skin from where the blood had dried from it.

He glanced back out the window. No one seemed to have noticed them yet. They were all scurrying around the scene, ignoring the black car and its inhabitants that must have been hid by the lack of light. Dean poked Jenny a little unsteadily on the arm.

"We need to get out of here before they notice us," he told her, his voice still a little unsteady, as he wetted his lips nervously. He was completely thrown out by the whole situation, and then the thought of Sam reoccurred to him. What if the thing had gone after him?

Jenny ran an uneasy hand through her hair, dragging it back so it was out of her face. There was blood in her hair, too. She would certainly need to shower. Although as weird as it was they were both healed, at least no stitches would be needed.

"Let's go." she muttered. Dean looked like he could drive - at least, he was a lot more awake than she was. Ugh she was really going to beat herself up over this. She was supposed to be a hunter, not one of those people who just lay down and die when a thing is coming at them. She should have been ready with her knife. She shouldn't have just let it slice her up like a piece of meat. She had really let herself down over this, and had just come out of an attack without even finishing it off. Now it was going to go after other people.

At least now, though, they could get more information. They knew what it looked like and what it could do, so now they just needed to find out how to kill it.

"Hang on." she mumbled, opening the door to get her back which lay beside the Impala. She snatched up her phone and they were good to go, unless Dean fancied hanging around, which she was sure he didn't.

Dean started the car the second Jenny was back in the car. They needed to get out of here, fast, before anyone started asking any questions which he would no doubt not be able to answer.

He pulled them out of the road, the reassuring rumble of the engine underneath him, calming his nerves. He had no idea how they had survived this, but they had, and he was grateful for both their sakes. It would have been a bad way to go, killed by one of the very things they hunted and having barely put up a fight. It was pathetic, but it had moved so fast. It seemed like it would have been impossible to get it, it was just too strong for them, at the moment anyway. They would undoubtedly have to research it when they got back to the motel, and then end the son of a bitch.

Getting back to the motel. He was slightly scared of what they might find there. Sam would probably still be in bed, safe from whatever it was that had gone after him and Jenny. If it did not kill them, then there was no particular reason for it to go for Sam that he could think of.

At least it had left him and Jenny alive. It was far too soon for him to leave his little brother alone in the world, and the thought of how long it would take before his brother found his body, Jenny's body, killed him. Sam had already endured enough, Mom, Jess, and now with Dad missing if he and Jenny died Sam would have no family left in the world.

Jenny didn't even notice when they were nearing the motel. When Dean stopped the Impala she was just starring motionless through the window screen. She had failed so horribly back there she was ashamed to call herself part of the Campbells... part of the Winchesters. Dean must hate her. That would be why he didn't speak at all to her on the way there. Of course, he would have even more reason to hate her if he found out about the curse. She had nearly got both of them killed because of her slow reactions. If she had just left it alone... if she had not distracted Dean from going straight back to the motel. Maybe she had been the one to leave the thing to him? Maybe it had followed her from the circus. They would never know. And Sam... what would Sam say about it?

Dean pulled the car over to a spot near the motel, his mind flickering between seeing Sam and having a shower. He just needed to know, to be reassured that Sam was all right. There was nothing to suggest that he was not, but he could not help but worry about him. It was not like he would be able to defend himself if something did come in, in his weakened state. If something happened, and Dean wasn't there to protect him then he had no idea what he would do.

He stretched his arms, limbs feeling stiff from what had gone on over - how long was it? He had no idea how long they had been out of it for. He feeling of dried blood was getting on his nerves, and he needed to wash it off, soon.

Pushing open the car, he spared a glance at Jenny. She looked pretty dejected, and Dean paused in getting out the car, looking at her sympathetically.

"Hey, Jen," he called her name, his voice low and a little scratchy, "Are you okay?"

Jenny kept her eyes straight ahead, though not focusing on anything in particular. Are you okay? The words sounded so overused... define okay.

"I'm sorry, Dean." she said, emotionless. "I failed you back there. I should have had your back. I should have been fast enough." she blinked and looked down. Another sign of weakness. Well, she had already looked weak enough times in front of him. What would another time even matter? He was going to hate her now...

Jenny was blaming herself for this? Dean frowned. That couldn't be right. There was no way that he could see that the blame could be placed on her. It was just him, failing to protect his younger cousin.

"Hey, Jenny," Dean reached out, placing a hand on her shoulder, and giving it a squeeze, "It wasn't your fault." He exhaled, looking a bit unsure of how to continue, before he started up again, "I screwed up back there as well. Hell, I'm the older one, I should have had your back."

He was starting to sound like Sam now, which was never a good thing. He really hated the whole emotional talk things, an area that really was Sam's forte.

Jenny got out the car. Dean was right. It wasn't her fault. How was she meant to fight something that was faster than her? But still, they needed to find a way to kill this thing, or it might come back for seconds. "Yeah." she nodded, grabbing her back. "I just get so used to being by myself, it always feels like my fault when someone gets hurt."

She wondered if he would understand that. "Guess you've never had to hunt alone, huh?"

Dean shook his head, a ghost of a smile playing at his lips.

"I did a few stints on my own," Dean admitted, "While Sam was at college. So yeah, I get where you're coming from."

Of course when he spoke about it like that, it made all that seem like such a long time ago, when really it was barely a couple of months ago that Sam had rejoined him. He had got used to hunting on his own, and the guilt that came with it with every death that happened. Still, he didn't linger on it too much, over thinking that kind of thing usually made it worse so he had learned mostly to just move on.

Dean leaned back in his seat, and he opened the car door, "We should get going now."

"Yeah." Jenny agreed, shutting the car door. She hadn't even got to enjoy how great it was to ride in that car... She looked down at her bandaged up hand. Too bad that that wasn't healed along with everything else.

Her phone buzzed so she got it out, wiped it on her jeans when she saw all the blood on it, and then answered. It was Davis, which wasn't too bad, because he could help them out now. So, she started explaining to him about the purple skinned creature.

"Its a Vampanesse." she said to Dean after a few moments and hung up, thanking him. Davis knew so much about supernatural beings. "Off with it's head."

How the hell had he found that out so fast?

Dean had not heard of one of those before. Were they some sort of relative to vampires? If he were to go by their name then he would guess they were, though beheading was a way that did work on the type of vampires that their dads old hunter friend Daniel Elkins had encountered, making it seem all the more likely that they were of a similar breed.

"The only problem now is how to do that with it running all over the place," Dean said, starting to walk towards the motel door. The pair of them must have looked like a right sight, all bloodstained and ripped clothes.

Jenny placed her cell back in her pocket. "First, we get to somewhere where people won't gawp when they see us." she suggested, rummaging through her bag for her room key, and finding it quickly this time. She smiled slightly, trying to see a 'lighter side' to this. At least they seemed to be okay for now, and maybe it would have thought they were being left to die. Maybe it would think they're dead.

"I think I've got something that might work. Thing is, I left my car back there."

"We could go get it in the morning," Dean said, not really fancying going back out there looking like this, and not having checked on Sam. The fact that it was almost midnight acted as a further deterrent, seeing as it was dark and they would have more chance against it when they could see properly. Going back in the light would be foolish.

Dean reached in his own pocket for his key, finding it right down at the bottom. He was undoubtedly looking forward to this shower. The motel's hallways were empty so far, so he was guessing that they would have no trouble getting to their rooms all right.

"Alright." said Jenny, put out that they would have to wait. She liked dealing with things as soon as possible, only a lot of the time she had to wait either to regain her strength, or just to be well prepared and strike when the time was right. Either way, the longer they waited, the more danger there was around, especially if it was going to attack them again - especially if they had been followed.

She put her keys in the lock of her motel room door, glancing around at Dean before going inside. "Thanks, by the way. I would have been screwed if you weren't here."

Dean smiled at her as she went inside, though he knew that whatever had gone right on that abandoned road was not because of him. He had no idea what had happened to their wounds. His at least had been deep, deep enough for him to bleed to death. Not that he was ungrateful that it was not the case, but it made him uneasy. Unless it was Jenny that had saved them both then he had no idea what had occurred. His memory since his leg had been slashed at was rusty at best.

"Night Jenny," he said as she went into her room. He looked towards his room, wandering what state Sam would be in. Hopefully he would be all right, and hopefully he wouldn't start vomiting again. He didn't know if he could face that. He was feeling pretty out of it after all the events of earlier, and Sam being sick throughout the night would be a sure fire way at keeping him up till the early hours of the morning.

Gingerly walked forward, he pushed the key into the lock, opening the door as quietly as he could before going in.

Sam stirred in his sleep at hearing the sound of the key in the lock and then the door opening. He groaned slightly, realising the pain in his head was still there from his headache that still hadn't gone away. He put his hand to his head, shutting his eyes in pain and then slowly letting it fall to his side, not bothering to sit up.

"Hey." he muttered, sleepily, seeing Dean by the door.

Dean mentally blew out a sigh of relief. Sam was fine, safe in his bed, even if he didn't look so good. That headache was probably still there, judging by his reaction to Dean opening the door, his hand pressed to his head.

"Hey Sammy," Dean greeted, keeping his voice low so as not to make the headache any worse. Sam would hate him for it if he spoke any louder, so he refrained from doing so.

"How you doing?" Dean asked, as he crossed over to his own bed, looking at Sam with concern.

Shit. Looked like Sam was going to be a bundle of joy this evening. He looked bored, probably having laptop cravings or something. The fact that he was also ill made this a very bad combination.

"Yeah, me and Jenny went to that circus thing," Dean paused, pondering over whether he should mention the thing that attacked them. Sam would probably overreact if he told him, making it look like an unattractive choice. Still, Sam had a right to know, and with the knowledge that the thing could catch Sam unaware he hardly had a choice. How was he supposed to explain it though? He had no idea really of what the hell had happened.

He looked over at Sam, internally debating how to go about this. "Turns out you weren't wrong about it being dodgy. The area that is, not sure about the circus. Looks like we got a vampaneze on our tails."

Sam looked at him worriedly. "What the heck is a vampanieze?" he asked, having never heard of one before. Did Jenny know anything about them? Had they seen it? Questions buzzed in his mind and he knew he would have to research it to find out how to deal with one. Was it the source of all the missing persons?

"What happened?" he asked.

"Not sure," Dean admitted, looking a bit unsure, "Something Jenny's guy's seen before." He had never seen one before himself, but that Davis seemed to know his stuff. Dean frowned, wondering how to answer the last question. How much should he tell him?

"We got attacked," Dean admitted, a while after he answered the first question. Hopefully Sam wouldn't make him elaborate further on that, though if he did he could only tell him the truth. To lie would be stupid.
